10 Commandments Kontra Illegal Recruiters!

IT JUST CAME INTO MY SENSES WHILE I AM SURFING THRU NET FOR A RESEARCH ABOUT LATEST STATS ON PINOY WORKERS IN THE COUNTRY . . . I'D LIKE TO SHARE IT WITH YOU SPECIALLY TO THOSE WHO HAVE PLANS GOIN' OUT R.P. TO WORK AND EARN MONEY. I THINK THESE MAY HELP YOU OUT . . .

The Ten Commandments against illegal recruiters are as follows:

1. Do not apply at recruitment agencies not licensed by POEA

2. Do not deal with licensed agencies without job orders

3. Do not deal with any person who is not an authorized representative of a licensed agency

4. Do not transact business outside the registered address of the agency. If recruitment is conducted in the province, check if the agency has a provincial recruitment authority

5. Do not pay more than the allowed placement fee. It should be equivalent to one month salary, exclusive of documentation and processing costs.

6. Do not pay any placement fee unless you have a valid employment contract and an official receipt

7. Do not be enticed by ads or brochures requiring you to reply to a Post Office (P.O.) Box, and to enclose payment for processing of papers

8. Do not deal with training centers and travel agencies, which promise overseas employment

9. Do not accept a tourist visa

10. Do not deal with fixers.

Amazingly, Angry Birds became the talk of the most ‘netizens’ around the globe. These characters became a most wanted theme on floats (like that of Panagbenga) as well on various shops (coffee shops, computer shops and the like) and furthermore, a perfect choice of presentation among foods and beverages. (You can agree with me!) It also became a favorite blueprint for most of T-shirt design (even undies), cups, keychains, bags, ‘bonets’/caps, notebook covers, pens, wallets, tumblers and many more. The red, yellow, black, white and green birds has also step out of your personal computers to be a huggable stuff toy and now out in the market. They actually dominated other items such as Spongebob, Plants vs. Zombies and any other tooney characters. It speaks for itself! Angry Birds are definitely on the mainstream! 

Everything on peak has always Pro’s and Con’s, for always. Some might look on the right and some on the left side. This may sound too comical but according to a news post on the net, a certain Congressman is in no doubt passing  / proposing a bill in the Lower House, the so-called House Bill 5379 or also known as “ANTI-ANGRY BIRDS BILL”. 

Assertive enough, the author of the mentioned proposed law is supported by the authorities from the People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) at his part after this organization also protested against this popular Rovio game. PETA cited, “We are influencing our children into thinking that killing pigs and destroying their homes is ok. It is not!”. Another PETA member stressed out, “If we think that demolishing the shanties around the Metro is inhumane and against human rights, what do you think these green pigs feel when a bird destroys their fortresses. Those swine has feelings and rights, too!” 

This congressman got this Anti-Angry Birds bill  idea when he went on a Christmas shopping for gifts in Divisoria. An eyewitness imparted that this congressman got irritated when he saw that there are lots of Angry Bird items in the place. This congressman also confirmed that it was the ‘mall incident’ that made him proposed this bill.

He stressed that everywhere he looked, there are many Angry Bird items to cite. The problem that this would create is the so-called ‘product diversity’ to which, according also to the congressman, the DTI haven’t yet monitored. He also has an immense hope of passing this bill. Let’s see how it could make noise in Batasan. (An eyebrow raiser that is!) 

Sound stressful but awakening? Don’t be too affected of what you’ve just read. This might sound silly but this issue was sometime a trend on the net. Several months ago, this was posted from a satirical website named “So What’s News” which aims to ‘inject humor into everyday news and to provide relief to readers who have grown exhausted with mainstream news organization’s partisan, biased and depressing way of presenting the news’. As its tagline goes, ‘News that won’t make you depressed to read news’. It maybe describes itself. And to give you additional background about this website, remember the recent controversial edited photos of DPWH officials  standing on rocky ground and it seems that they were looking for a lost cat. This website was also responsible for this. Funny as it gets, but it’s true!

MY BIRDS ARE ANGRY!!!

Suddenly it became a top online game! Suddenly, it became a trend on all other  social networking sites around the globe! And suddenly, it became known to many!

“Don’t ever dare to touch its eggs or else they might get angry. It’s not a plane or a Superman either – they are the Angry Birds! 

Wikipedia defined Angry Birds as a strategy puzzle mobile game which was developed by Finnish computer game developer Rovio Mobile which was first developed in December 2009. The game needs keen and painstaking strategies to win a goal. The players use slingshot (tirador in Tagalog)  to launch birds at pigs situated on or within an assorted structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. Wikipedia also cited, that as players advance through the game, new birds appear, some with special abilities that can be activated by the player. The developer also supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content and the company has even released stan-alone holiday and promotional versions of the game  such as Angry Birds Seasons, which has special editions such as :

Angry Birds Halloween (with title episode “trick or treat on October 2010)

  

Angry Birds  Christmas (with title episode "Season's Greedings" on December 2010) 

Angry Birds Valentines (with title episode  "Hogs and Kisses" on February 2011) to name a few.

They also launched Angry Birds Rio (March 2011).

Angry Birds Magic developed exclusively for Nokia's NFC-enabled Symbian devices)

This upcoming 2012 version, Angry Birds Space on March 22^nd.  

Angry Birds also received distinctions / recognitions and nominations such as “BEST CASUAL GAME AWARD” at the 6^th Annual International Mobile Gaming Awards in Barcelona, Spain in February 2010. It was also awarded as the fourth best iPhone game of all time in September 2010 at UK Appy Awards. Angry Birds also received “Best Game for Handheld Devices” at the 15^th Edition of the Webby Awards and then proven to be one of the best iPhone game apps on the market as of last year.

Soon, Angry Birds will be trying to move out of your personal computer to big screens as Michael Bay brought about a film entitled “Angry Birds” which became very viral on You Tube.
